When thinking about graphical content, the name Nvidia is the first thing that pops into people’s minds. The CES 2015 has been showcasing a lot of quality technological products, and everybody is eager to know what is in store in terms of graphics. The Tegra X1 processor from Nvidia will be the first one released. Last year, it was all about the progression of Kepler graphics to the mobile chip. However, this year, it is all about Maxwell invading the mobile arena.
The CEO of Nvidia, Jen-Hsun Huang, revealed that this super chip will have about 256 processor cores, along with eight CPU cores. If you think about the processing of graphics in this chip, you will definitely be lost for words. This processing unit is the best in the world for any sort of mobile platform. According to NPD, and IEA, this chip set will blow out the competition of last year, K1. So, in terms of processing power, the Tegra X1 will handle about 4K video features at a constant frequency of 60 Hz.
It will be the first mobile chip that can handle about 1 Tflop of throughput. It will also process the same gaming engines that Maxwell supports on the desktop. So, with this level of computing, one can expect that the features of gaming, as well as a lot of entertainment and graphical needs in the mobile phone will be easily met with this Tegra X1. The use it in terms of mobile graphics can be used in automobile as well as in drones.
